Cortijo Fuente Arriba in the Heart of Almeria

The holiday is based out of a renovated farmhouse on the edge of the very Spanish village of Lubrin, Almeria in Andalucia and nestles in the foot hills of the Sierra de los Filabres range of mountains. Lubrin pueblo is a typical Andalucian village tucked away some 2000ft in the Sierra de Los Filabres and just 45 minutes inland from Mojacar on the Costa del Almeria.. It’s charm lies in its narrow streets, its white village houses adorned with bright geraniums and bougainvillea, and its endless sunshine. Not forgetting the charming villagers of Lubrin that provide for all the basic holiday necessities and includes 2 Supermarkets, 2 Bakers, 2 Butchers, Bank with ATM machine, Post Office, 3 Restaurants and numerous Tapas Bars where you can get a Menu del Dias for just €10 (including a bottle of wine for two).

The Farmhouse is set on a hilltop and surrounded by terraced lawns and Olive, Almond and Pomegranate trees. The self catering accommodation is to be found in a renovated Andalician Cortijo (Farmhouse) full of character yet spacious and with modern amenities. There is a fully equipped kitchen and outside has the benefit of  very private terraces to greet the morning sun with a cup of tea or coffee and toast the last rays with a glass of wine. There is Freeview Satellite TV and a laptop is available with free Wireless Broadband.

The mountain views are truly panoramic and on a clear day include the Mediterranean sea. There is a swimming pool to cool off on those very hot days or just pick a shady spot to read a book, sip a glass of wine or take in the views. For the more active there are moderate self guided mountain walks right outside the main door.

The accommodation is conveniently located for exploring Almeria with its diverse and dramatic landscapes, isolated villages and romantic beaches and coves. Many guests are seduced into a day trip to Granada to marvel at the wonderful Alhambra.
